The inline fuse will be the size you want in the fuse box, and then (if it were me) get ride of that inline fuse and wire the accessory directly to the fuse block. The hole on the fuse block side is given on the spec sheet for the fuse block. The hole on the battery end should be just a bit bigger than the bolt size. I got solder on ring terminals from the local hardware store and soldered them on myself using a torch to heat the terminal. Where are you mounting the fuse box? I mounted mine on the left kick panel inside the vehicle. Keep in mine I am certainly not an expert but I gathered most of this from these threads and the comments.Ĭlick to expand.I'm going to start by asking a few questions. This gives you the option to run the negative wire from your accessories back to the Blue Sea instead of grounding them on any exposed metal near your accessories. If you buy a Blue Sea that can be grounded you can just ground it close to where you mount it. If it doesn't, you'll simply have to ground the negative wire from each accessory to a ground closest to it (easiest option in my opinion). Dependent on the Blue Sea that you buy it may not have a negative ground. I also see that you mentioned running the negative cable back from the Blue Sea to the battery, I don't think that's necessary. I would cut the wires after the inline fuse and just wire the positive directly to the Blue Sea and run a negative to ground close to your accessories. I'm thinking that you will need the fuse in the actual fuse block, and your accessories should give you information on their max amp draw and you can pick a fuse based on that. That's my plan at least so hopefully more informed minds can hop in and corroborate that.Ĭlick to expand.I'm not sure on your inline fuse question. The setups that I've seen on other Blue Sea threads are basically 12" of wire from the battery to the master fuse, and then 8-10' from the master fuse to the box inside the cabin.įor the terminal ends, I believe 3/8" ring connectors ((4 gauge or 6 gauge, whatever you go with) for the battery as well as the Blue Sea will work. I'm planning to use a 100A fuse for this (again, this will depend on the number of accessories you have but if they draw more than 100A total you'll likely need a larger Blue Sea and thicker gauge wire). I didn't see a mention of a master fuse, but you will want one between the battery and the Blue Sea to protect the wiring/Blue Sea after the master fuse. The Blue Sea boxes (at least the ones I've looked at) are 100A max, so 6 gauge will likely work for you.
